I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Orange County Fire Rescue Department (Orlando, FL)
Interview
The interview process was quite difficult as it should be for this profession. It started with an application process which led to an initial interview. After that, if all went well, you joined several other applicants to take a written exam. Afterwards there was a physical test called a CPAT insuring that you are physically fit for the position. Finally, again if you haven't been told that you have not been selected, you would be invited to a final interview with the Fire Chief. At this point the applicants have been continuously cut until the remaining selection that was initially communicated was met.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Orange County Fire Rescue Department (Orlando, FL) in Dec 2022
Interview
Spoke with the Fire Chief, very nice man. He asked, “Tell me about yourself”, “Why do you want to be a firefighter”, “Why Orange County Fire Rescue”? He told me about the amazing opportunities OCFR has to provide and that he is looking for individuals who are here to contribute to the team and make OCFR their career.
