The interview process is lame.
The first round- (Coding round) Program to find number of words in a sentence, and to find GCD(HCF) of two numbers. (Cleared)
The second round - (Technical) Lots of why questions ranging from JavaScript, HTTP protocols, Response codes, just a random program code and you have to tell what does it find (prime number), Backend technologies, Database design tables strategies. (Cleared)
The third round - (Meet the Team) Where the whole team will join and ask you silly questions. They will show history of Oviva that it got funded so many times as if you are already selected and they are giving induction. They make you feel like “why are you talking to us”. Why do you want to join Oviva only and not any other company? Contrary to German culture, 90% of the team joined late and after a small Whiteboard exercise was over. Such a disrespect. Why are you even hiring? Open ended questions like What to prefer SQL or NoSql? Readability vs Complexity? Just a bunch of 2 years experience newbies asking random questions. They didn’t know what is XOR operator when I used in solution.
After answering all questions, newbie told that interview seems to be positive.
At last, no offer. They were more interested to know if I have been to Germany. Thank God I was not offered. Just because company is funded doesn’t mean it is a success. On contrary if it needs funding every second year, it means it is lame company which can’t stand on its own ideas.
I asked for feedback or reason for rejection as they were happy with my knowledge. Got no feedback either from hr or from technical interviewer.
