      Flight Attendant Interview

      7 Dec 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Knoxville, TN
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at PSA Airlines (Knoxville, TN) in Nov 2016

      Interview

I applied for the Flight Attendant recruiting event in Knoxville, TN. The interview process was exactly as described in previous entries. Please refer to the questions below. I was concerned about a long line, but there were only about 25 people at this location. Make sure you arrive early in larger cities. There were three processes in the interview. The first was a powerpoint presentation from current flight attendants. They told you about the job, company, and the LOW salary. They gave you the option to leave if you were no longer interested. You wait 45 mins until they call you into the room. Then the second step, your line up in numerical order (when you signed the registration form), you enter the room and your entire row stands. Each person stands up and addresses the panel, there they ask a question (with are all verbatim below). Then you read an announcement which is a short statement of what you would typically hear during the flight safety instructions. Try to project your voice in a nice pleasant (a unique) tone and try to look up when speaking and use facial expressions as well as hand gestures. Smile. Then you wait another 45 mins. Then split the group one room is told they do not make the cut while the another room is told they can proceed. (I made it) Around 14 people made it. So in that room, you then show you documents, which are social security card, passport, and ONE copy of your resume (I wasted money on extra resumes). Then you are walked to the F2F interview room where you have at least 3 interviews. You start with one person then they pass your resume and questions on to the next person. It feels like speed dating, with normal interview questions, like "tell me about your previous work experiences", especially if it's different from being a flight attendant. They ask why PSA so make sure you research the company and come up with a good answer. The last interview I was asked scenario questions about being a flight attendant, "would I commute to my base or live near my base", and "how will I make the low salary work". I was told I would be contacted in 2 weeks with either response. The next day I was offered my CJO. Training is yet TBD. My personal advice: Dress like a flight attendant, popped collar shirt, red lipstick, stocking, and I wore a scarf. Be confident, act, sit, and stand confident! This is key. And talk to everyone and makes friends. It made the interview feel way more comfortable which made me less nervous when reading the announcement. Encourage each other, and have fun. Don't be afraid to show off your personality.
