I applied online for the Project Staff Engineer position in S. Plainfield in August 2015 and received an email about a month later requesting an in person interview. I live out of state so I scheduled my trip for the interview (without reimbursement) and prepared ahead of time. I arrived at the facility early for my scheduled interview and could not get ahold of any of the PSEG contacts. I flagged down a woman who helped me find another employee that could assist me. It turned out that none of my interviewers were there that day (this was a Friday) as they were in corporate meetings in Newark all day. Apparently, the administrative assistant who was in charge of scheduling my interview, was new and had quit after only a week and never informed my interviewers of the schedule. So here I am, having traveled through several states just for this, and did not have my interview on Friday. I did end up getting the interview rescheduled another day before leaving New Jersey but the whole ordeal was quite ridiculous. I felt the interview went very well and I remembered to thank the panel afterwards. I anxiously awaited to hear back but it took longer than promised to get back to me. After all that, I ended up getting not one, but somehow five auto-reject emails from PSEG (I only applied to one position). After being narrowed down to only five people to interview, you think you would receive a personal email or phone call even for a "no". They really know how to make you feel terrible, and extremely unwanted. I will not apply here again, and will go somewhere more professional who treats candidates with more respect during the interview process.
