Talked with a recruiter and then scheduled an in person meeting with 2 others from PSEG. Technical questions were asked to be answered in STAR format and the interview lasted for about an hour.
1 hour long. Asked about my technical experience with databases, behavioral, personal questions as well. Very nice people. Seems like a fast paced environment so having that sort of experience is needed
I applied online. I interviewed at PSEG (South Plainfield, NJ) in Oct 2019
Interview
The interview process was very straight forward and well structured. I had two interviews back to back, one with two interviewers who took a lot of notes and another with the hiring manager. I received a call from HR about a week later offering me the position.
Following the drug test, background and reference check, the recruiter I was corresponding with became unresponsive and in the following days I received a letter from the background check company telling me I was no longer in consideration for the position. I then received an email from the hiring manager inviting me to my first meeting with his team. Eventually I did get to speak to someone in HR and they were able to tell me over the phone that the offer was pulled because I did not have the requisite academic credentials for the position. This was disheartening, as by this point I had discussed my academic background with 2 recruiters, 2 interviewers and the hiring manager. If I did not have the right credentials, they simply should not have offered me the position. I wasted a month of my time and passed on other opportunities because I actually really wanted the to work for this company.
