I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PTC
Interview
If there was an award for the worst hiring process, I would nominate PTC. My scheduled interview was in a different time zone and very early for me, but I was prepared. However, the interviewer joined the call too late, was not dressed appropriately, and kept yawning. Despite these issues, the interviewer was kind, friendly, and welcoming. They asked me several impromptu case questions that were not relevant to the position, but the interview went well. After several weeks of follow-up with the company and the first-round interviewer, I discovered that the latter had volunteered to conduct the interview because there were no other interviewers available, and he had no idea about the process. I received an invitation for the second round almost a month later, and the interviewer was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and was only filling in for the real interviewer. She was convinced from the beginning that she did not want to hire me and informed me that they would continue interviewing other candidates, and would revert back to me in a month. Who gives such a bizarre timeline? It conveyed that they were not satisfied and would be conducting more interviews. Additionally, the job description offered no relevant experience. Despite following up repeatedly, I received no response. The first interviewer also said he could not help me with this matter anymore. As an interviewee, I feel disappointed that established firms like PTC would mismanage their hiring process and behave unprofessionally, despite including diverse and inclusive information in their job descriptions. Furthermore, they expect applicants to know everything and work like a full-time employee, which is unfair and unrealistic.
