I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Pacific Cove Properties (Victoria, BC) in May 2026
Interview
A recruitment company reached out to me in March saying I would be a good fit for the position that Pacific Cove Properties had posted. I didn’t respond, and they reached out again last week but this time with a salary range of 80-100K. I clicked interested, and the recruiter called me within 10 minutes with an on the spot interview. She sounded excited about my experience, saying it was just what they were looking for. She set me up with an interview with the director of property management who she said wanted to talk to me urgently. During the interview, it was clear I was not giving the answers he wanted to hear. I felt put on the spot with a few questions and left the interview feeling confused. I was told not to expect a promotion within the next 5 years, and it was a small company and there was nothing to strive for. He said I’d be better suited for a company like the one I am currently working for. When I followed up with the recruiter she told me I was supposed to answer in a specific way and she should have told me how to answer better. She said she would follow up with me after she spoke to him and I haven’t heard back. Not even after a follow up email. No response, no polite rejection, nothing. After looking a little into the company, I found several negative reviews and the person who was in the position I was applying for had only stayed for 5 months. If someone reaches out to you for an interview - do not answer. It’s a waste of time.
