      Sales Manager Interview

      6 Sept 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks (Washington, DC) in Jun 2024

      Interview

Interview process below. BIGGEST ISSUE: the company ghosted me after my final interview. I diligently reached out to HR in the three weeks following my final interview, and in the last exchange was told that she (HR) would reach back out to me in 3-4 business days. Never heard thing. As of this writing, 2 months after my final interview, I haven't heard a word and I know that no one has been hired for the position. Regardless, if I wasn't the choice, tell me. If the company is going through restructuring at the start of its fiscal year and needs more time, tell me. The lack of communication of any kind was completely unprofessional. Due to this, I decided a month after the final interview that if a job was offered, I would not accept. How you do anything is how you do everything, I wouldn't want to work for a company that lacks basic business courtesy. A total of five interviews. First was an HR screen, 30 minutes. Second was a 60 minute unstructured interview with the hiring manager. Third and Fourth were each 45 minutes with two different ecosystem leaders relevant to the job opening, unstructured. Fifth was 60 minutes with VP and EVP where I was required to create and present a 30/60/90 plan. I actually enjoyed each person with whom I interviewed. The 30/60/90 seemed ridiculous, given that I didn't know the internal structure of the organization, but I applied myself and provided a good plan.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

No specific repeated questions. It was more of a discussion around my approach to the position with interjections by the interviewer for clarity or for expansion of my thoughts. Very pleasant exchanges at the specific interviewer/interviewee level.

      Sales Manager Interview

      25 Jul 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks (New York, NY) in Nov 2021

      Interview

Initial recruiter sourced the call. Vetted background and made connection to hiring manager. Hiring Manger then took call but didn't like the background qualifications. Interview call was over in 10 minutes due to poor quality alignment of candidate needs. Seems that shouldn't have happened. We are all busy, so I understood and moved on.
