      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Patriot Software (Youngstown, OH) in Aug 2015

      Interview

I had to do two phone interviews that lasted about 30 minutes to an hour each then came in for a face-to-face interview. Drove over an hour. HR was kind to me. I filled out an IQ test on the computer then had to do a math test AND “spot the differences” test. I’m sure i passed those but failed the interview. The two men I interviewed with were not personal at all and i could tell they had made their decision when I walked in. I did not feel comfortable. They did not ask to see my portfolio but they did ask me to “tell them an appropriate joke” as part of the interview. They hardly asked anything that related the actual position. When I left they shook my hand and said “this is usually where we don’t see people again” and smiled.” They emailed me before I got home that they could not offer me a job.
