Video interview. - If you were an animal in the jungle what you be and why?
Assessment centre...
Day broken down into 3 parts...
Group task: Split into two teams. Work as a team to put a shelving unit together (pieces of wood of different shapes and lengths) need to work together to fit into a square. Idea of task is to understand how you work to deadline and most importantly working together. Bear in mind teams are not competing, should work together and communicate.
Interview: Standard interview. Name a time... Why Pattonair... Why the role... Make sure you use the STAR method. They don’t like it if you don’t. Interviewed by a finance team member and a HR employee. Keep responses short and to the point.
Presentation: Given a brief prior to assessment day. Create a presentation linking one of their values that closely represents you. Make sure this is personal to you. Give professional and personal examples of why this value resonates with you.
On the whole not a bad day, was an enjoyable experience.
They score you on competencies (probably the ones set out in the job description) I.e out of 3 and then add them up and give you a score for the activity (group task + interview + presentation = total score). This is used in the hiring decision. Worth a thought as they will try to standardise the process to make it easier to compare candidates.
However, I would say that we were told we would receive the news of the outcome by phone either way. I received my rejection by email. I did receive feedback two weeks later. I think a better way would have been with a phone call as indicated on the day, and give feedback at that point. To make a candidate who has made the effort wait I thought was poor. As they would have all the information available when the hiring decision was made. (That bit being more towards Pattonair).
Good luck in your application.
