      Java Software Developer Interview

      23 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tokyo
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at PayPay (Tokyo)

      Interview

Expect 5+ rounds. First was a third-party coding site, which I enjoyed. Second was and HR screening, the interviewer was kind and helpful. The third was the first rech round and left a lot to be desired. No actual conversation on language skills, the intervoewer himself didn't seem too helpful, and wasn't great with communication. He didn't ask about concrete details related to coding, implementation or language/framework knowledge. Overall I felt that I couldn't even show my abilities with the language and implementing problems and feel that the interview wasn't at all a good assessment of technical ability
