I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at PerBlue in Dec 2019
Interview
Was sent an email with an assessment link that was to be completed at the end of the week, as they were starting the next phase of the interview after that. The assessment was mostly a cognitive test, with some basic runtime analysis in there too.
I didn't hear back, so thought that was that, I didn't move on. But then a month from the first email, I got another email with a link that said to finish by January 1st, as they were moving on to the next phase after that. Upon clicking the link, I realize it's the exact same test as earlier. I did it anyway.
Again I didn't hear back for a week after the first, so thought that was that. Then on Jan 13th, I got an email saying I had been selected for a video interview and to send my availability over the next couple weeks, so I sent a response that same day. That was a Friday. On Monday, I was emailed saying "Last week we sent you an e-mail regarding our summer internship position. I wanted to let you know as soon as possible that the position has now been closed."
In terms of work days, I was asked to list times for an interview, and then the very next day told the position had been closed.
You did not have an acceptable interview experience and we apologize for that. During this round of intern interviews, we had a few compounding communication issues with some of our candidates which you were unfortunately stuck in the middle of. We will be reviewing the process further to minimize the chances of poor experiences like this happening in the future.

Interview
Started out by sending me an online software development and culture assessment. This was pretty generic with workplace related questions. Exactly a month later I received an email informing me I had not been selected. A few hours after this I received another email informing me to once again complete the online assessment. When I responded to this email I was told it was an error. Another month later I was asked to video interview with two members of the team and asked to submit my availability. Two days later I was informed that the position had been closed. I don't normally post reviews on here, but this was an exception. Even for a small company this process was unprofessional and rude.
You did not have an acceptable interview experience and we apologize for that. Occasionally there are miscommunications and mixups in the coordination processes when we are juggling a lot of applicants, but this type of thing should still not happen. We will be reviewing the process further to minimize the chances of poor experiences like this happening in the future.
