      Senior Travel Specialist Interview

      25 Jan 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Peraton in Jul 2021

      Interview

Within a day of submitting my application I had a call from a recruiter to go over the basics of the company and the job. He was able to set up an interview with the hiring Manager within a week. That interview went very well and was very detailed. So far so good. It is the on-boarding process that turned out to be the most unprofessional I have ever experienced to date. A delay in the offer letter arrival, once the contingent offer was given, the next step would have been the background check. The Recruiter said my information was sent to the agency, yet over a week later no email as instructed from said company. I had to follow up with the recruiter to check with the company only to find there was a massive data outage. No one's fault obviously. I was informed that the offer was contingent on a contract being awarded. I received one follow up email after a month of the job offer only after I followed up with the Recruiter that the contract had been awarded and they expect to give further details soon. That was the last contact until in October where I sent a follow up email and received a lengthy apologetically email from the hiring manager indicating that they had informed internal staff that the contract had been rescinded and he expected that the recruiting staff would have informed us external candidates. He profusely apologized about my having to reach out to him for an update. I would say the main issue here is the level of communication of the recruiter.
