PernixData Kernel, Storage and Distributed Systems interview questions

Applied online and got a call from the recruiter scheduling a phone interview. The interviewer asked for my background and work experience in the beginning which was different from the role I was applying for. I could sense that his interest in the interview went down then itself. Afterwards he asked standard questions like reverse a linked list, producer-consumer problem etc. I was able to answer them and finally he told me a little bit about the role and hung up. There was no communication following this and when after a week I asked the recruiter for an update, I got a standard "no position for your background" email.
