The interview itself was fine. There was a team manager and a regulatory director. The director was friendly and confident and asked many questions. The manger himself was new and seemed to lack experience. He asked little questions at the end and he seemed nervous himself?
Overall, they were both nice people. However, the problem arose with responding on time. I had interview on a Tuesday and was told I would hear back back mid week next week. I was then contacted by another external communicator who was lovely. She was told by the manager to inform me that he was still interested and that he apologises for the delay. I then asked when is the latest I will hear from him? She then asked him and let me know I would know by end of next week.
I am aware that interested does not mean I got the job. However, when a manger insists he's interested and that this is simply a delay. It is not unreasonable to expect a positive response. After a 2 weeks wait, I get a generic computer generate 'you have been unsuccessful with qualification and experience'.
In the interview I was asked how much salary I expected? And after I told them I was still not given a clear salary quote. My guess is they found employees for lower salary then I said. Although they seemed fine with it on the day.
No transparency and lack of respect for applicant's time and effort.
