I had an initial screening with TA, then an informal chat with HM. They both complained about lack of candidates for the role and told me they spoke to many people who just did not fit (this felt quite honest and was repeated to me a few times). They asked to prep a presentation and the over all feel was good. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get the job as the task i had to tackle was quite specific and required industry knowledge. Throughout the whole process they made me feel like i was the only candidate they had, however their feedback was they chose "the other candidate as their answers were better structured". This felt very bizarre. Suddenly they had someone to compare against. They could have said, we're looking for someone, who is more experienced ;)
I know that they're still looking to fill the vacancy and it has been 2 months since I was interviewed.
