There were 3 rounds, at-least the rounds I went through.
1. HR Round/ Introduction round: They asked regarding my career, my achievements, and projects. Later they spoke regarding my responsibilities in the company, and gave a short introduction regarding the existing backend team. And the responsibilities magically changed when I talked to the CEO.
2. A Coding round, where you need to create a CRUD application using Angular, Spring boot, eureka service discovery. You get 4 days.
3. A talk with CEO: Yeah, a TALK with CEO, except that he calls you repeatedly during your office working hours like a sales agent.
See, no offence, but the reason I got rejected is pathetic. The CEO mentioned that they can’t afford to give X LPA which I pitched right during the intro call before the first round, which they agreed with then, made me go through lot of work by asking me to get in calling during work hours, made me build a full stack application which i kept a lot of work into, and finally, they informed me they can afford only X/2 LPA of what I asked them for. Come on brother, forget about how terrible CEO you are, you are a terrible businessman. Fun fact, my current salary is more than that X/2 LPA.
The company follows a simple formula, hire people who are good with the skills, but are financially dumb, so the CEO doesn’t feel intimidated by the awareness they have reg financial independence, and they work like idiots underpaid, only to realise this after they retire. The employees working there/ similar environments, all the best.
Note: I always try to say positive, and did the same reg my old companies always. But the whole experience i had with the other panel, is his pointless logic.
No offense brother, we make mistakes, but lets not make it affect someone who wants to give their best.
This is just another classical example of why Non Tech CEO’s shouldn’t get into recruitment.
