First was a brief phone interview. They then flew me to New Hampshire at their expense for an in person interview. This lasted approximately an hour. A couple days later I was informed that I was chosen for one of the 2 mining engineering positions they had available, but that I would need to fly back to NH for a site tour/ 3rd interview. Again, at their expense. I did this, which involved dinner the night before, then the next morning a mine site tour and finally another short interview.
Finally after all this process, 3 days later I get an email that says they have had 'organizational changes' and they have eliminated the mining engineering positions and will not be hiring anyone. After this it was very hard to get in contact with anyone from the company seeking information. I get that they don't owe me anything especially since they paid my expenses for the trip, but I cannot understand what changes could possibly happen that quickly and which they would not know about prior to flying me out for the 3rd interview. The lack of communication afterwards was just icing on the cake.
