      Sales Development Representative Interview

      28 Nov 2022
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Planet (New York, NY) in Feb 2022

      Interview

I appreciated that I had met most of the people I would end up working with by the time I started. With that being said, I had went through multiple interviews and it took over a month. I wished this had been a faster moving process.

      Sales Development Representative Interview

      20 Apr 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Planet (Berlin) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to me about this role & it seemed like a great fit initially. I was given a salary range of approx. 45k but it wasn't communicated to me whether this was the base salary alone or together with commission. Since another person in recruitment team was unavailable to speak to me I was invited to a video interview with the Team Lead, i was then promised to be informed on the salary breakdown following that interview. Video interview with the Team Lead went extremely well, Team Lead was very friendly, enthusiastic, friendly and polite. They said that there will be more follow up interviews. I was then sent an invite to have a video call with the Director. I was still waiting on the salary breakdown at that point but went ahead with the second interview anyway. The interview with the Director was one of the worst interviews I have ever had (and i had many interviews in my career so far). The interviewer was extremely patronising and arrogant, was late to the call, did not acknowledge that he was late, did not say sorry he was late, he sounded like he did not want to be there at all, they way he was speaking to me made me extremely uncomfortable. I asked him several questions to do with company's future plans for expansion and he laughed at that question.... He asked several questions to do with my nationality/background, which is illegal and unacceptable to ask in any interview and made several xenophobic/nationalist comments to do with my country of birth, to do with my country's history. He also referred to my country in a very derogatory manner as if that country is something to be ashamed of. He clearly thought that where I come from is inferior to where he is from. I was completely stunned by that and that made feel quite upset actually. He said that he will give interview feedback to one of the recruiters & they will get back to me. I have waited for almost 2 weeks, there was no reply at all. I then emailed them myself re interview feedback and salary breakdown and got an email saying ' we need more time to make a decision' and then he gave me a % breakdown of the salary & commission. There was no apology for not getting back to me re feedback and no indication when that decision will be made. Its clear that they are interviewing others and keeping certain candidates as back ups in case they don't find anyone else. It's extremely unfair to keep people waiting & not making a decision. I would advise against applying/interviewing as there are plenty of companies/roles where you will be treated with respect and politeness both in the interview process and once you get a job. Very disappointing!

      Sales Development Representative Interview

      6 Aug 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      I interviewed at Planet (Berlin)

      Interview

Terrible process. The first interview was with the HR We spoke about sales processes and how to search/lookup people which led is onto facebook. He then went on to say this is what he uses sometimes too followed by 'you have a nice profile photo by the way'. This is extremely inappropriate to say, and made me feel I only received a job interview based on what I look like. I then got through to the next round which was a talk with the team lead. Why I choose to continue with this interview process I do not know! The next interview took place over the phone, and standard questions were asked. Frankly the hiring manager didn't seem the slightest bit interested in what I had to say, so I wasn't surprised to get an automated 'thank you for your time' email. The cherry on the cake, was the email was sent by 'no-reply' so there was no chance of me asking for any feedback. Really shows how they care about candidates! Overall not a great experience, and did not reflect well on the company.
