The recruiter reached out, we had a short call and I was invited to interview. I asked for the names, roles and LinkedIn profiles of who I'd be meeting, what the format would be and what to prepare — I received no answer. An hour before the interview, I got an email saying it might not happen at all. The role description arrived ten minutes before it did.
The session was a portfolio walkthrough focused on screens and no interest for strategy and design thinking process. I offered to send a tailored portfolio for work I couldn't share live due to NDAs. Two weeks on, I've had no response across email, LinkedIn and phone, to both the recruiter and the hiring manager. It was for a freelance role. Rolling three-month contracts at roughly a quarter of the local market rate.
Unprofessional from start to finish. Candidates deserve basic transparency and the courtesy of a response.
