1st interview with three senior people. A little over two weeks late, I was contacted by HR for a writing and map sample, which I was able to send almost immediately. Two weeks after that I had my final interview with the entire research team. I was out of town so this was all over video chat. Everyone was friendly and the interviews were conducted well and professionally. They were slow to communicate throughout the whole process and did not stick to the timelines they mentioned in each interview stage (which would be fine if they had communicated about it rather than just leaving me wondering). Then when I was apparently not selected, they never contacted me to tell me and never responded to my emails asking for an update. Candidate ghosting is unfortunately very common, but still very unprofessional and completely unnecessary when it takes thirty seconds to send out an email and let the candidate get some closure (especially after multiple interviews and work samples).
