The interview was with the manager and included a short skill test, which was online. The entire process was relatively quick and I was offered a job at the end

An assessment has to be taken, on the phone or in person onsite. They time you 30 minutes. If you get this far. they will ask some network questions. If you dont get selected dont worry your better off. Total waste of time.
Thank you for your feedback. We do administer a skills assessment that requires candidates to pass with a 70% or higher. This helps us focus on candidates who have the basic tech skills to do well in the position. We also ask behavioral and situational questions during the interview as Help Desk Analysts must remain calm, patient and client-oriented at all times

You will have to take an assessment. You will be timed 30 minutes. A few true or false questions and the rest you will have to write about how to document a ticket with a scenario, they will some network questions. If you did not past the assessment they would just ask you a few questions and send you on your way. I feel like for an entry-level job. They shouldn’t give you a technical assessment. It’s skills you learn with experience for an entry-level help desk tire 1 position.

We have found that our pre-employment skills assessment is a great indicator of whether or not a candidate has the technical knowledge to be successful in our Help Desk analyst position. While this is an entry-level position, some exposure to and more than a basic knowledge of technology is typically needed to be able to learn all of the environments we support.
