After my resume shortlisting, They scheduled 1 hour video call. Interviewer was kinda cold and not friendly. He asked one of basic Data structure question and then asked a unix command question. I answered it with a doubt (although correct) and told him that I am not experienced with unix and then he asked another unix command and I couldn't answer, He said alright, we want someone who has UNIX and production experience and said bye and disconnected the call without listening to my response. I was shocked with this kind of behaviour considering he is one of the very senior person.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are really sorry that you experience was not positive one. We’d love to learn more about your experience and how we can improve. Please feel free to write us an email to share more feedback: jobs@project-a.com

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Project A (Berlin) in Nov 2017
Interview
I met the team at a conference and expressed my interest in working in the company. I was well received by their data engineering chief officer. He told me to send my application and then we will have a Skype call about software craftsmanship. I sent my application and got an answer in two days to schedule the interview. The interview questions were mostly about database, queries, database administration. One was about basic algorithms knowledge (find the second maximum in an array). I asked him why do they choose "Data engineer/data scientist" as a title, he explained to me that they need a person who knows how to do data engineering stuff because there are no database system administrators in the company and the data scientist has to ensure both data engineering stuff and data science stuff.
I did well in the basic algorithm question but in the database knowledge, I was missing most of the points because I don't have a big experience on. So, the interviewer told me that I would not fit the position. I appreciated his fast feedback and honesty, also he gave me advice on how to improve my database knowledge as I asked him.
After few days, I received an official email of rejection.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your interview experience. We are always happy to convince interested people to apply for a job at one of the job fairs we are attending throughout the year. Even though it did not work out this time, we are happy with your positive interview experience and the helpful feedback you received.
We are constantly asking applicants for feedback on candidate experience surveys to even deliver a better experience. Thus, we are able to create an interview atmosphere where both parties feel comfortable.
Do you have something to add? We would be glad to hear your detailed feedback. Always feel free to send us an e-mail to feedback@project-a.com.
