The interview process consisted of two virtual interviews, both containing additional assessments to be completed.
My initial interview included three written assessments, which were completed within a shared Google Doc that the host had access to. The first two assessments focused on language comprehension, with the final assessment being to write a personal statement within a fifteen-minute timeframe. This interview was hosted by the Talent Coordinator.
During the second interview, I was asked to give a presentation on social media strategy based upon a brief that I had been provided beforehand. In addition to this, I was asked to research and present three potential topics for use within the company's social media video series. Before this interview was held, I was required to fill in an additional job application form as well as a GDPR notice. This interview was hosted by the Talent Coordinator, the company Director and two additional members of staff.
After both virtual interviews, I was contacted via telephone to be informed that the company had narrowed the applicants down to the final two. To help them decide between myself and the other remaining candidate, I was asked to complete one final writing task focusing on short written copy in the form of a script segment for the company's social media video series. This was sent to them the same day, and unfortunately I didn't receive confirmation that it had been received until I followed-up five days later.
After a further two weeks without any communication from the company, I reached out with another follow-up regarding the progression of the decision-making process. I was contacted the following day via email to be informed that the company had reassessed the direction of the business, were putting the hiring of the role of pause, and would be searching for candidates with different forms of experience once they resume.
In total, the interview process took one month and three days. The process was lengthy and detailed in a way that I have not previously encountered from similar agencies - it required a large amount of research, prior preparation and long waiting times with minimal contact.
