They called me and set up interview in their office. There were three people around a table asking questions. One person asked most of the questions. I answered all questions asked and felt comfortable with the questions they asked me. I was surprised that the actual job was not what was advertised but for a subsidiary of R club, which took be aback somewhat. It was then revealed that it required a skill which I did not have any experience in and had that been stressed in the ad I probably would not have applied and could have utilized everyone's time more efficiently. I was surprised at how many time they asked me if I was indeed leaving my current company and if I was sure I would not be staying there. It was worded differently each time but ultimately the same question. Each time I explained that it was a workforce reduction and there would be not place for me to go. They also wanted to talk about the company I currently worked for and what was happening with them which I felt was odd. It wss just overall a strange sort of interview for me.
It was "good practice" for interviewing in a panel situation and on the whole not a bad experience. I would not have accepted the position if it had been offered to me as I do not feel it would have been a good fit for me.
