Frustrating experience with screening phone call interview process: 1. Initially received a voicemail from HR to connect and have a screening call, but could not reach that staff member when attempting to call back and leave a few voicemails and an email over the course of three weeks. I checked over the number and email address several times, and I did have the correct ones. I attempted calling back almost every business day to no answer for a total of the three weeks. 2. When screening phone call was finally complete after three weeks of no contact, I was then given timeline expectations for next steps (1-2 days to hear back to set up a potential in person interview) by HR staff that were never adhered to. When I called back a few days later to follow up, I was given another very short timeline that was again not adhered to. 3. No one responded when I followed up again a week afterward via email, and it has been now been another three weeks since I sent that email. 4. To make things even more frustrating, my application was listed in the applicant's system as 'waiting on reply from candidate' which is simply not true. I had not received any correspondence that would have necessitated my reply, let alone any information at all since my initial screening interview call. I informed the HR staff of this as well over the phone early on and during my screening call and nothing was ever done about the incorrect status. Advice to the team: If you are no longer interested in an applicant or are no longer hiring for said position, just let applicants know, even via generic rejection email (anything!). Please don't waste job seekers' time keeping them waiting for you to reach out within a made-up timeline. If you genuinely don't know/don't have a timeline, please don't give applicants false timelines and then avoid them when they simply reach out to follow up. It is also unfair to job seekers to inaccurately change a status on your interactive application system to remove the ball from your court and to not respond when the discrepancy is brought to your attention.
