      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at RH (Denver, CO)

      Interview

A phone interview followed by in person in a few days. The phone interview was very brief and in-person one took about an hour. very smooth and it was more informative and asking about skills and background.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at RH (Corte Madera, CA)

      Interview

It started off quite well. I was reached out to by someone who I had a great connection with and we spoke about my background and desire to grow and potentially move to a Gallery Manager position once I learned the brand (a position for which I was more than qualified for. ) I discussed my only concern with my past experience with the recruiter and she assured me this was no issue at all and that with the rest of my background and experience this would not be a factor. I next met with the Gallery Manager and again a very pleasant experience and great conversation, I asked questions about her goals and about RH and the future of the brand and she gave me some "homework " which I thoroughly enjoyed. I had a phone interview with another recruiter and it went well with expected leadership and hiring questions. I next went to the HQ in Corte Madera and had another very enjoyable and informative meeting with one of their executives and toured their location in Corte Madera, again discussing things I would need to focus on in this new environment and of course my background. I was again informed thsr any concerns I may have with lack of experience in a certain area were no concern at all. Then another virtual interview with another executive in New York. The overall experience was engaging and exciting and I was sold on the brand. I got a call shortly after that they loved me, but the exact reason I mentioned in the first interview and several times later were why they decided I was not a good fit for Gallery Assistant Leader. I was later approached for a Gallery Leader position in a different location? I now had the one thing on my resume that was missing before.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What type of books do you read? What type of leader are you? How would you take on this new environment? What is your take on client engagement? What experience do you wish to create for the client? What do you know about RH (very important and do your homework)?

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at RH (King of Prussia, PA) in May 2020

      Interview

-took place at King of Prussia, PA location -it was brief but honestly felt like the longest interview of my life, and the woman who interviewed me seemed less then happy to be there. She was very short and curt and did not engage in any conversation with me. -at the end of the interview she gave me a few words of advice which were "to make sure I thoroughly research where I'm interviewing at so that I present myself appropriately" (in reference to how I was dressed, aka not in all black). -the way she carried herself throughout the whole interview was unwelcoming and it made me very uncomfortable. The was an air of 'you're not RH material' and she made sure I knew it. -In the end I'm thankful I did not end up working there. I got a terrible feeling from the interview and I don't think I would have been happy, but regardless it was a horrible experience and I don't wish that on anyone. There's nothing like being nervous/excited for an interview and then totally being shut down and made to feel like you are not worth their time.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

-Read off our core values -Tell us about yourself -Why did you chose Restoration Hardware specifically?
