Quick process from initial HR screening call to interview with a hiring manager. They were good at communicating next steps and were very responsive. Offer came quick and was competitive for a fully remote role.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you approach a situation when you are brought in on a new project with minimal onboarding?
There was first an HR round, then they provided short technical exam, a round-table interview with 4 people, final interview with CEO. There was quite a bit of delay between interviews.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rancho BioSciences in Jan 2025
Interview
I am not surprised by the other bad reviews on here after going through the process as well. Overall interview process was disorganized. I had one round of interviews. Then there was a take home curation assignment which was straight-forward. Then a second interview. Then a coding assessment which they don't tell you how you will be graded. Then I was scheduled for a third interview which they cancelled. Two of the senior employees seemed to not understand which position they were interviewing me for and asked irrelevant questions about different positions. Out of the four total people I interviewed with, nobody seemed to have energy or enjoy being at Rancho. The position I interviewed for keeps being reposted on linkedin week after week.
