the interview is good.
HR is professional and frankly.
they care about candidate's real demand in a new position and willing to explore candidate's skill set if the background is not that matching
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
will you accept your existing company's counter offer?
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rand Technology (Irvine, CA) in Sept 2019
Interview
Long interview. Felt like hiring manager and I knew each other well afterwards. I was offered the job and have enjoyed it. Everything the sales manager said has come true.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rand Technology (Plano, TX) in Mar 2017
Interview
Confrontational. It started with the usual background questions and then the hiring manager became almost beligerant and condescending. I felt like he may have been threatened by my knowledge and experience. The technical lead who participated was very nice and friended me on FB afterwards. The recruiter had told me that she had not been able to find a single candidate that the hiring manager liked and she wasn't sure what he was looking for that was eliminating so many candidates. It's probably a good thing since I would not want to work for someone like that.
We are 99% certain this is for a different Rand or a different company. A very unfortunate experience for the candidate, but in 2017, Rand was not hiring for a Director role nor were we under an agreement with a recruiter. Additionally, we don't have a facility in Texas and have not ever worked with someone who interviewed on our behalf in Texas. Human Resources invites you to contact us for clarification.
