I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Recursion Pharmaceuticals (Oxford, England) in Apr 2026
Interview
After applying, you get a list of interviews you have to clear which seems too long at first. Recruiter interview is followed by hiring manger. Surprisingly hiring manager wasn't from the hiring department, and getting rejection without showcasing the technical skills was disappointing.
Standard HR screening followed by 30 mins with hiring manager (who was excellent). Then came the 2-day panel interviews. Felt a bit excessive for the role, but I appreciated they wanted to get multiple stakeholder perspectives.
Everyone was nice, but I felt there was some hesitation with where the company is at, and where it’s going. I didn’t sense much excitement about their mission or the team environment.
A few standard behavioral style questions, but nothing out of the box or unique to the role. It felt like they turned the interview over more to me to ask questions. I would have liked to better understand how each functional team collaborated.
Overall I got the sense it wouldn’t be the right fit. Coupled with taking 4 weeks to get back to me on a decision, and it was an auto-reply, the process felt a bit disjointed.
The interview process started with a short phone screen with a recruiter, where I was mainly asked about my previous experience in machine learning, recent projects, and general background. It was conversational, straightforward, and focused on understanding my fit for the role.
