I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Red Bull (Atlanta, GA) in May 2014
Interview
I applied online through a posting on Indeed.com. A HR representative from their Santa Monica HQ called me for a 25 minute phone interview. They asked me a few questions about my experience, salary requirements, etc.
After this, I had a phone interview with the Regional Manager. She asked me similar questions, but was much more focused on my market - what was unique about it, how would I reach consumers, etc.
The Regional Manager scheduled an in-person interview at a coffeeshop a week or so later. This took an hour and a half. We dove much more in depth about the local market and how I would leverage local events, opinion leaders, cultural moments to promote Red Bull. She explained a lot about Red Bull's brand and how they operate, the kinds of opportunities they like/don't like. I was nervous but it ended up being very relaxed and fun.
The Regional Manager gave me an assignment: create a marketing plan for an upcoming big event. I had three days to put together a full plan based on a $50,000 budget. I had a graphic designer friend help me lay it out so that it looked amazing.
I sent the plan to the Regional Manager. She immediately followed up to schedule a time for me to fly to the Regional Office for an in-person interview with the Regional Director.
The meeting with the Regional Director was fairly straightforward. I think this was just a formality. He barely looked at the plan I created. He asked more top-level questions like "why do you want to work for Red Bull?"
A couple days after that, I got a call offering me the job. The HR rep in Santa Monica was in contact with me throughout the whole process. He was extremely helpful, giving me tips on each individual involved, what to wear, etc.
