I was initially contacted by an HR specialist to inform me that I had been selected to move forward and schedule an interview. She provided a written prompt for a database design which was to be discussed during the interview (48 hrs to complete).
The interview was conducted by a panel of 5 or 6 Region One ESC employees including software engineers, directors and security specialist.
The interview lasted for about an hour including the 10 behavioral questions and the data base discussion.
I was able to finish the written test in about 20 minutes, after some initial technical difficulties.
Overall, the interview was well conducted, however; the panel did not offer me the opportunity to ask them any questions. This was a huge red flag for me as it told me much about how they operate.
I initially accepted the offer and had been working with HR to get the on boarding process squared away, but they were very unresponsive and were not sensitive to the fact that I had to provide ample notice to my current employer, which was very unprofessional. Another red flag.
I ultimately rejected the offer based on those two warning signs.
