I had to reschedule the interview because of a death in my family, after they rescheduled my interview once already. They never even bothered to offer condolences for the death in my family. Which is weird, considering how much they push the narrative that they are a “Family Company”. First they start off with a 50 question test to make sure you can do basic math, then a psychological profile test to see if you’re honest. Then the interview process is very unprofessional. Nothing but vague information given, and they test to see how much you’re willing to put up with for a bait and switch offer. They advertised pay of $45k/yr and then tried to offer a lowball offer of $35k. Several red flags throughout the process- 1. No professional or personal courtesy. If an employer knows you have had a tragedy occur and they don’t even have the courtesy to offer condolences during the interview process, they’re not going to be kind when your son or daughter dies, or your spouse, or parents. 2. Bait and Switch hiring - Treating people like a worm or fish on the end of a hook is not “Family Values”. 3. When you advertise a job opening and you can’t describe the job duties or compensation, you’re not really hiring good candidates because you are not a good employer. 4. When other employees write that the company culture is bad, you know why they’re looking to fill a role, they’re not growing, they’re shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic.
