The interview process was very quick, they seemed desperate to fill the position - even if it wasn’t a good fit. They appeared to be very disorganized and understaffed. Very small firm, even though it’s been around for awhile.

The interview process was very open and honest. I felt like they genuinely wanted to know whether I felt like I was a good fit for the job, and if they were a good fit for me. They were also open in turn about their expectations from the person they hired and for the role in general. I met with the CEO and leadership of the company, and it seemed like they also wanted to get to know me, which impressed me.

Interview
While the people I met throughout the interview process were very nice, the process itself was less than ideal. They had me come in twice for the same level of assessment, presumably because they didn't coordinate well among themselves. They had me complete an editing exercise that took up a good chunk of time and then never got back to me after my second interview. I followed up by email and still no response. No reply until I notified them that I was surprised that after I'd dedicated so much time to interviewing they were not keeping me apprised of the status of my application and I'd be relaying my experience here. Very nice people and it seems like a nice place to work but don't expect your time or effort to be respected when you interview here.

They asked how I would feel writing and learning about esoteric subject matter related to finance and tech.
Having multiple interviews and writing exercises are fairly typical for editorial candidates. We are highly selective, and want to make sure that we hire the best talent possible.
