I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Rimrock Corporation (Columbus, OH)
Interview
Applied online, was invited on-site for an interview. The first part of the interview was a standard behavioral based interview conducted by the hiring manager with some specific questions about my technical experience. It was relatively informal and relaxed. Following this was a plant tour, and then a return to the office for a second interview with a different manager. This is where the interview took a negative turn. The interviewer berated me for wearing a suit to a job interview at a plant. While asking questions about my experience, he would cut me off, dismissively wave his hand, shake his head, and say things like "that's enough." He asked me if I had experience working on cars. When I answered no, he responded that I clearly didn't have a passion for engineering and that he couldn't imagine me working there. His final question was "tell me why we should hire you?" And when I gave him my answer, he dismissively told me to leave his office. I have been on dozens of interviews over the years and never had as negative of an experience anywhere as I did here.
