I applied through LinkedIn and was referred by a friend. I heard back within the week from a sourcer, he reached out via email asking me to download the RingCentral app. It seemed well intentioned, he wanted me to be set up for success, so I could learn the product. He mentioned all communication would be received through their app, which made sense. The next week I got a turn down email without an interview. Then two days later I received an email for candidate feedback… what?! I never even interviewed. It just seemed rude to have someone from the company reach out, then turn you down without an interview then ask for feedback. It was off putting.
