After applied online through Riot careers, I was selected for the first round. I interviewed on phone with the hiring manager of this role, who was also the lead data scientist of the team. The first interview turned out to be pure behavioral.

many behaviour questions, many BQ rounds, which doesn't make much sense to me. Technical review is open questions, to design a small system for a task, for example, to detect the relationship between different game players, and so on.

The interviewer was extremely knowledgeable in machine learning. The problems he presented were difficult but the interviewer presented the problem more as a discussion where we had a back and forth until getting to an “acceptable” solution.
