Applied online. Setup a time with the recruiter to have an in-person interview with the key stakeholder.
As a digital entrepreneur myself, I have a fairly understanding of the social media marketing space, and I was able to discuss the product strategy and SWOT during the interview.
Surprisingly the interview was a very one-sided one, and there were hardly any questions about my background - expertise, skills, or even behavioral. The interviewer asked me to participate in several strategy ideas they were pursuing over a 6mo-1 yr period. At the end of the interview, I was told to think about a few pillars that would help them be successful and we will chat again in a few days.
2 days later I got a rejection email.
It seemed almost like setup to use the interview as a context to brainstorm ideas on product strategy. Clearly they are not looking to hire anyone in the near future, but looking for a free consultation on their long-term strategic initiatives.
This is interesting, because, sadly this reflects the previous posters Interview experience for an Executive position as well.
I would recommend to stay away from this company.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ripl (New York, NY)
Interview
Phone screen and onsite the CEO. The questions and the process was easily. Company seems to promote fairness and transparency. However, question was more based on getting info not necessarily on the fit for the role. It seems they were gathering ideas and contacts through a job rep that was not really open or not in a hurry to fill. Becareful not to waste your time
