Got a phone call shortly after applying asking when was a good time to get interviewed over the phone. The following week I was interview with general behavior and interest questions for about 40~ minutes. This went very well and the HR lady was very nice. She did not have much understanding of the terminology I was using though in regards to IT, and repetitiously asked questions which I had to clarify.
Two weeks later I get another phone interview with an IT manager for about an hour and half .(despite being told it was only going to be 30 minutes) Lots of questions about my aspirations, what experience I've had, things on my resume, and such. So another behavioral interview more or less. Also informative on the relocating to Detroit and the process behind that as well as the neighborhood.
This also went well I felt and got positive feedback from the man on the phone. I was told I would have another phone interview that would be much more technical and specific to the position. The gentleman said he would call back after the weekend with information on what data/time this would happen. It wasn't a possibility or a maybe, it was a certainty that it would happen.
Three (3) weeks pass with no phone call or emails. I sent an email to the first HR lady with a followup wondering what the status of my application was. Three days later, I get a voicemail on my phone from the IT manager telling me that I was no longer in consideration and the position was filled.
So despite telling me I had another phone interview, taking up all that time on the phone, and have me really eager and waiting for this next interview, they just decided to not tell me that they moved on anyway. Very unprofessional and aggravating. Especially when they mentioned a bunch of times they would also consider me for other internship opportunities too during the interviews, and nothing came out of that either.
