Kind of a weird one. Nobody seemed that interested? Overwhelming feeling of boxes being checked. Everyone seemed nice enough but not particularly skillful interviewers -- I came away feeling like they deeply knew the criteria they were looking for but not much else.

Question 1
Phone: intersection of two arrays
React: Fetch data from an API and render it. Really focused on "performance" but weren't able to give an answer on whether the desire was to prevent rerenders or network requests -- like I said above, not great interviews.
SQL: Medium level difficulty. Know left vs inner join, GROUP BY, DATE and TRUNC.
System Design: MyFitnessPal
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Rocket Money in May 2026
Interview
Talked with 3rd party recruiter, then with a Rocket Money recruiter. Did a javascript interview, then a react/sql interview. The react/sql interview felt like too much to do in a 60 minute interview, especially if you wanted to ask anything at the end, but overall I felt like the technical interviews went well. Alas, received an email letting me know they were moving forward with another candidate.

I applied online. I interviewed at Rocket Money in Apr 2026
Interview
I applied online and a recruiter reached out to me. Wasted my time by asking questions that were quite obvious from my resume. Agree with the other recorded interviews here - they are basically looking for something very specific. If you dont say the right keywords you are not chosen for the next step.
