Interview process took about seven weeks — starting with an initial HR interview, followed by a meeting with the hiring managers, a case study, and what was supposed to be a final interview with the CEO.
Unfortunately, the CEO (owner) interview was cancelled at the last minute. I was told the CEO was unable to attend the final interview so instead he had watched the recorded interview and decided to cancel my final interview instead.
First issue: During the process, they asked for my consent to record the hiring manager interview for AI review. I agreed to that... not for the CEO or anyone else to personally review the recording without prior consent.
Second issue: It became clear that all major decisions rest solely with the CEO. Otherwise, it’s hard to explain why a process that lasted nearly two months, involving multiple team members who seemed genuinely interested, was abruptly ended after one person’s private review of the record.
Advice: Don’t invest significant time preparing or taking their process too seriously. The team members may be professional, but the overall decision-making process lacks transparency and respect for candidates’ time.
