      Interview

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1/5 stars - Unprofessional and Misleading Interview Process I recently interviewed with this company and was deeply disappointed by their unprofessional and disorganized approach. What was supposed to be a cultural fit interview and offer negotiation turned into an unexpected technical assessment without any prior notice. The lack of transparency was shocking. I wasn't informed about the technical questions I'd face, which put me at an unfair disadvantage. Even more confusing was the mixed messaging - I initially received positive feedback on my technical interview, only to be later told I lacked technical depth based on surprise questions in what should have been a different type of meeting. The company seemed to struggle with aligning the job requirements too. I was interviewing for a backend development role but was blindsided by data engineering questions. This mismatch between the job description and the actual assessment was frustrating and unprofessional. Their evaluation process leaves much to be desired. Judging a candidate's technical abilities based on unexpected questions in an incorrectly framed interview is not just unfair, it's potentially inaccurate. In my years of interviewing, I've never encountered such a poorly managed process. It left me with a very negative impression of the company's professionalism and respect for candidates' time and preparation. I would caution other job seekers to be wary when considering opportunities here. A company's interview process often reflects its overall culture and operations, and based on this experience, I have serious reservations about working for such an organization.

Jörg here; I’m the CTO and one of the founders. First and foremost, I’m truly sorry for how your interview process unfolded. You’re absolutely right—while you applied for a backend role, we thought your experience with data could make you an even better fit for one of our data teams. But we failed to communicate that properly, and I completely understand why that was frustrating. That’s on us, and I take full responsibility. You should have been clearly informed about the structure of each interview, and I deeply regret that you were caught off guard with technical questions when you were expecting a cultural fit conversation. That was my mistake—I didn’t communicate properly with the team, and I can only imagine how unfair and frustrating that must have felt. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It’s feedback like this that helps us improve, and we’re actively working on making our process clearer, more transparent, and more respectful of candidates’ time. Again, I sincerely apologize for how this played out, and I wish you all the best in your job search. Best, Jörg

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at RoomPriceGenie in Mar 2025

      Interview

1.) Kennenlernen mit Team Lead & Engineering Manager, 2.) Coding Challenge 3.)
