I'd heard about RYPM from friends, I'd checked out their ratings as one of the best companies to work for and so I submitted an application for a part-time leasing coordinator. I am called for an interview where I am informed that they're not actually looking for anyone working part-time and that I'm overqualified for an entry-level position as a leasing coordinator. [so why did you call me for an interview?] However, the interviewer said she would rediscuss my application and get in touch in case a position more fitting for my experience and qualifications was made available. One month later, I get an email in which they announce they were "thrilled" to offer me the position of Leasing Coordinator, full-time, in return for compensation that was half of what we had discussed for a part-time position. What felt more disrespectful was that it was simply a template email with no customization whatsoever as to the specifics of our discussion, nor to amend the huge discrepancy between our talks and the actual offer. Shocked, I ask whether there was a bonus scheme or any career prospects that could justify the lowball offer and when they wanted me to inform them of a final decision. I am informed that that was the standard salary anyone would get for the first 4 months, [no details as to what happened after those 4 months] and that I'd need to inform them within 3 business days. Hard as it was for me to accept the terms, I eventually decided to accept the offer since, obviously, I'm just a human with bills to pay. I inform them within the given timeframe and..... I never heard back from them.
