First round is intro call with the CEO, Nick.
Very quick, wants to get some background info and move you forward with the next stage.
Next stage is a three-part assignment; a client has an issue you need to resolve. You have to:
1)Teach the client how to resolve the issue
2)Teach all clients in an article format
3)Give the Rundoo team some suggestions for improvement.
The assignment is part of the interview process, you typically have 1 week to complete, and are suggested to spend 2 hours to work on it.
You will spend a considerable amount of time playing with the sandbox so 2 hours seems unlikely.
I did not move past this round although I spent considerable amount of time with the assignment, including a current Director of Customer Success and a Communications Director to help with the visual component.
*All feedback stated here has also been communicated with the Rundoo team. *
Considering the amount of time you will spend on this assignment and it not being a guarantee to move you forward with the next rounds (another 5, by the way) it is a very tall task to apply for this position.
The third component is where I had major concerns.
They are receiving product feedback from candidates with no incentive for the candidates.
It leaves a lot of questions up in the air...the biggest one (if reading heavily into it) is: are they even hiring for this role?
Candidates are turning in free content and ideas.
I understand they are looking for the right talent in their startup hiring, but this is not a responsible way to hire.
Reader: you will not be paid for the assignment or the time you invest in producing the assignment.
This is getting long winded but I'll add this: the assignment itself is incredibly fun. You play with a product's sandbox and you consider yourself a part of the team when writing.
Be warned, while it may be a fun time, it will not guarantee your candidacy moving towards the next stage.
And just for that, I would not advise you spend your time here unless you are passionate about the SMB paint industry,
