I didn't have any actual experience in this particular field but I do have extensive experience on my own projects that directly relate to the open position. So I sent my standard resume, along with three or four pictures of various projects I'd created, hoping this would fill in the employment experience gaps. Received a call about three weeks later, requesting a phone interview with, (I'm assuming) the owner of the company. Finally after some phone-tag, we had the interview. I thought it went pretty well, she asked a few of the usual behavioural questions and I made a lot of effort to talk about my actual skills in this field. Since I'd worked at my last company for twelve years, that's the only job experience I'd listed on my resume but she requested more - as far back as I could go. A little overkill I thought, but ok, fine. Took me awhile to track down all that information (twenty-five plus years) and I emailed all the work history she'd requested and included a 'thank you for the interview' note as well. Two weeks later, after no word, I emailed again checking to see if she had received my information or if the position was still open. As I'm now learning to be the norm, I never received a response.
