I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at S[&]T (New York, NY) in Jan 2015
Interview
Great interview. VP was a very nice guy. Asked a ton of questions, but was not very intimidating which was good. I declined the offer because I found another position.
I had tried to contact S&T regarding open positions since August till November 2016. I specially visited Roketry event organized with S&T in September to find someone who could me help with pushing the stuck procedure ahead and I was lucky to find such person. Pushing ahead in my case meant I had got one "luxury" phone talk with a S&T junior who:
-- thought that MongoDB is a programming language,
-- had difficulty to read properly IT abbreviation like PostgreSQL
-- didn't know a position I had had applied
I was practically sure that he had not read or even seen my CV. At the end he promised to contact me within two weeks what also didn't happen.
I cannot understand how a company with so big ambitions can be so bad in hiring. Innovative companies cannot exist without smart people. Smart people cannot be materialized from the air.
I don't like writing negative reviews. This is actually the first time I am doing it for more than 15 years.
