      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SSP Limited (Solihull, England) in Oct 2018

      Interview

1 stage interview, very relaxed and open interview, was honest about the current situation and the aspirations of where the business is heading. Technically was challenged for the role, but could see that SSP were looking for logical thinking as well as technology and process answers.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SSP Limited (Solihull, England) in Sept 2018

      Interview

Informal chat more than an interview. 3 people in room with leader only being in job weeks prior. 2 longer-term technical members of staff with one telling me he's the one to talk me out of working there. 4th person joined the casual meeting halfway through whom had been working there a few months. Was asked some technical questions. Advised I'd be expected to agree to being on call which I said wasn't good for me. I think this should have been detailed in the job advert. One of the interviewers laptops blue screened and jokingly asked me to fix it, I replied jokingly get a new one. To which I heard them mention budget cuts on internal kit. Seem like nice people and a company going through a lot of change.

Many thanks for taking the time to complete a review regarding your interview at SSP. There are different interview techniques to adopt and the style used at SSP is reflective of our culture which is informal. We appreciate this style may not suit everybody but we aim for this to suit those that would enjoy the SSP environment and hope it allows us to get to really know the candidates and their suitability for the role. We will ensure the recruiting managers are aware of your feedback and we will also aim to ensure that interviewers are present for the whole of the interview period. The team in which you were interviewing for has just had a significant amount of investment which resulted in a number of roles being available, which is why some of the people you were meeting were new to SSP. In addition we have made significant investment in our technology including an exciting new partnership with AWS. Our telephone briefing should cover all requirements for the role including on call. However as a result of your feedback we will now ensure we include this in adverts for the future. Thank you again for taking the time to feedback, it always helps us to improve our candidate experience in the future. Best wishes for your future job search.
