I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Samespace (Mumbai) in Apr 2024
Interview
I am iOS Developer and this is how Interview process went.
1. So right after applying to this Job Opportunity, I received a iOS Assignment which had to be completed within the Week. The Assignment was of moderate difficulty and I completed it within the week catering all the requirements.
2. Post submission, after a week, I was contacted by HR to notify me about clearing the Assignment round and scheduling Technical Interview. I was asked to get acquainted with Samespace and what they do (Which I did).
3. Technical Interview was of moderate difficulty where in Interviewer asked me some Technical Scenario based questions as well as questions related to the Assignment (And also few Swift related questions). In addition to these, I was also asked questions related to Samespace and their products. Interview lasted for 30-40 minutes.
4. Post this, after a Week, again I was contacted by HR to Schedule the Final round. This round was purely behavioral round wherein the Interviewer mainly focused on how the Job aligns with my interest and skillset. In addition to this, I was also asked questions related to Samespace and their products. This round lasted for 15 minutes and at the end of Interview, Interviewer said that there might be another final round with the CEO of the Company.
5. After 3 Days, I received a Call from the same Individual who took Behavioral round. He asked me whether I would be comfortable working in a Front End Project using React.js. When I asked about the iOS Opportunity for which I applied, he said for now it would be react development and iOS Development could be on Adhoc basis. However, he gave me an option to chose between react and iOS. As I was looking to continue my career in iOS Development itself (And that is the motivator to apply for this role), I said I would be comfortable on iOS side.
6. After a week, post follow up, I receive a mail stating that my Candidature will not be taken forward.
So summing up the Interview Process, It was kind of weird. If you are expecting a candidate to be skilled in particular area, please post the Job opportunity pertaining to that and not some other opportunity, this will lead to the situation that I faced.
From candidate side, after putting in lot of time for Interview process and getting rejected for such a thing is quite frustrating.
From Organization side, If you are expecting a Candidate who is Skilled in Skill A but you Interview them for Skill B and at the end rejecting them because they dont have Skill B, its kind of waste of time. Kindly take this as a feedback.
