I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Samsara (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2021
Interview
The initial screen with the hiring manager was great. She asked a few questions and gave me the opportunity to tell her about my background and ask her some questions.
The next round was a homework assignment, which would have been ok should it have been at a later stage in the process. They are literally asking for you to write up a strategy brief of how to do specific things, which to me is getting free work out of candidates. Should I have been closer to a finalist candidate and have had the opportunity to meet with additional people to better understand the culture, position, team, etc. I would have been more inclined to do the homework assignment.
From what I gathered the company seems fantastic, the hiring manager was nice and easy to speak with, and the role was right up my alley but again spending that much time on a homework assignment like that seems a bit much this early in the process.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Samsara
Interview
I had 2 stages with the manager and the director where we discussed about my experience, the role and the company. I received many links to help me learn more about the company which was very helpful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my expertise in a specific area which I wouldn’t have thought of talking about but was critical to getting the role, I am glad they asked me the right question.
