Interview
I had been referred by an internal applicant for two roles that I had been highly recommended for. The initial calls were with a different recruiter for each position, the first recruiter was terrible, he seemed completely checked out and was eating at one point of the call. The second recruiter was amazing, she provided invaluable information on both the company, the roles and gave advice. She was extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I was passed onto management for the second role and had a zoom call with management. The manager arrived a few minutes late however was friendly and asked quite a few questions. My current role is a mix between a traditional AE and AM role with a hefty quota and book of business. We are responsible for a large number of accounts, renewals and most importantly, upsells and new business. This seemed to be quite confusing for them as this is not a typical AM role. Ultimately I received a rejection email shortly after the interview ended which I was expecting due to the confusion displayed by the manager who had been in the sales industry for 1/5th of the time as I have.

This was the worst interview experience I’ve ever had. After being pushed quickly through 5 rounds of interviews and nothing but positive feedback I was told they would have a decision in one week I had a start date the month after. They completely ghosted me for more than a month then I got an an automated rejection email. The recruiter would text and call me to check in during the process and never heard from her after that. The sales managers that interviewed me seemed like very mediocre sales people that have never managed anyone and had no real insight into the position.
